TR19 certificate cost — what you should expect to pay
A TR19 certificate is the documentary output of a TR19-specification kitchen extract cleaning visit. In 2026, expect to pay £180–£450 for a standalone inspection certificate; included free as part of a TR19 clean.
Standalone vs bundled
If your kitchen has been cleaned to TR19 specification by someone else (or by an in-house team) and you need only the certificate — a standalone inspection and certification, no cleaning — you are looking at £180–£450 depending on system size.
If you commission TR19 cleaning, the certificate is included free as part of the clean.
What drives the price
- System size — small canopy-only kitchen at the low end; multi-canopy hotel at the high end.
- Number of access points — each requires inspection and a WFT reading.
- Travel and site access time.
Why standalone certification is sometimes the right answer
If your previous cleaning contractor did not issue a certificate that meets your insurer's requirements (or did not issue one at all), an independent TR19 inspection-and-certification visit gets you the documentation without the cost of re-cleaning a system that may not need it. WFT readings tell you whether the system is actually compliant — and if it is, you walk away with a defensible certificate.
The catch
If WFT readings show the system is above 200μm at any access point, the certificate cannot be issued. The system needs a TR19 clean before certification.
